Wallpaper in the passage

Eddy placed at first my favourite wainscot. What a great advantage that we work all day with wood ! Even he needed some days to fix this. But he did a wonderfull job, and we are satisfied.

After that I came again with my paint-brush. Every morning one hour.....

But I was happy with the result.

With a good explanation from the salesman who sold me the paper, I began with new courage....

I've papered some rooms in our old house too, but that was such a long time ago.

Tabitha assisted my for the first wall, but after that she had no time any more because of her job.

But I am glad she would help me to start.

And I am as proud as Lucifer with the result.

Yesterday I've took an old chest of drawers and painted in the lightest coulour of the paper to place it into the passage.

I love the result !

The smith and the banisters.... excellent work !

Fons and Louis, the smiths, came three or four times to inch and pinch and with examples to be sure that everything would fit excellent ! Their discutions were very amusing to hear.... their funny dialect did us laugh. "No Fons, we have to do it this way." "No Louis, I think we better do it this way..."
But we have to assent that they both are excellent smiths, with a lot of professional knowledge.
Fons the man in the middle of this picture proposed us to choose this design. He has forged our banisters. Thanks Fons !!! Your idea and work is really very, very fantastic !

This is the result, it will be beautiful, once everything is finished.

So now it is my turn again, I've tried the different colours.

The doors I have painted a few months ago, but what will I do with the walls : painting, wallpaper, a combination,... ???

I have to think about it..... take my time to decide.

This wallpaper I have used for another place..... because in the meantime I had not been idle either.....

A few weeks later : the die is cast ! I've choosen for the combination of the dark-beige with wallpaper.

Every morning I have about one hour I can paint , just before I am going to the shop, and after the children are gone to school and work. At evening it is still to dark to paint. It's still winter, but when the days will drawing out, I have more time. And as I always say myself : "Rome and Paris are not built in a day !".....

After I 've finished the painting work in the bathroom, I have done the toilet on the second floor. Eddy has placed here my favourite wainscot too. Tiles on the walls are not my favourite things, I prefer wood. My mother has made a few years ago a Victorian needlework with angels and a friend made me the bunny as for a present. So those two favourite things of me found their place in the smallest room....

After that I began to paint the door from the living, it was an antique door with etched glass. Three panels made one big picture. I love it !!!

Eddy removed it, before he placed the doors, because he had to remove the old paint first. That wasn't a problem, because this is part of our job. We renovate our old furniture too. Both of us are graduated as antique restorers. So we are lucky now to have a lot of experience to decorate our house.

Difficult.... paint with one hand, make a picture with the other hand.... there's nobody to take a picture from me, so I do even that myself !!!

The result after one coat of paint. Now it can wait...

Eddy replaced the three glasses. Are they not beautiful ?? I enjoyd them every time I pass through.

Living into the new house

Long time ago, I was here to fill in the blog isn't it ? Sorry !
But we finished a lot of work this last months.... we = especially Eddy of course !

The curtains are selfmade from remainders.


In the meantime we sell in our stores also the old fashioned baths and radiators in cast iron. It's a beautiful acquisition to our old and country furniture.

















This cupboard we also sell in our store (a little bit of publicity, you never known ;-) ). Our customers can choose their own colour. We paint or wax it the way they wanted. So I have choosen for dark-grey with a blanc inside.
